Core concepts

The objects and terms GenLink uses: workspace, agent, table, approval, threads, backlink records, and more.

A quick reference for the words you will see across GenLink. Skim it once and the rest of the docs read faster.

Workspace and agents#

Workspace#

Your account's container. It holds your agents, your prospect tables, your settings, and one bill. Everything is scoped to a workspace, and you can create more than one.

Manager agent#

The workspace-level agent you chat with at Manager. It readies rows, answers questions, and can act across your tables and agents on your behalf.

Agent#

A hired Backlink agent that works your tables: it reads each row, writes the pitch, sends within your limits, and handles replies. Each agent sends from exactly one mailbox. You can hire as many as you want.

Mandate / brief#

The agent's editable Job description. It reads it every session, so a concrete goal with a number and a timeframe steers its work. See brief your agent.

Tables and rows#

Prospect table#

A list of sites or pages to pitch. A table belongs to the workspace, not to one agent, so every agent in the workspace works every table.

Row#

One site or page in a table, with its details, its draft, and its status. A row moves through stages as it is drafted, sent, and answered.

AI column#

A column whose cells are filled by a prompt you write, for example cleaning up a company name or classifying a page. You can compute it now or fill empty cells later with Enrich. See prospect tables.

Draft#

The pitch the agent has written for a row but has not sent. Drafts wait for your approval.

Approval (Ready to Send)#

The one gate before anything is emailed. Marking a row Ready to send authorizes it; the backend refuses to send a row that is not ready. See approve and send.

Conversations#

Thread#

An email conversation with one contact, from the first pitch through every reply.

Stage#

Where a thread or row sits: Sent, Replied, Won, Archive, or Other, plus row chips like Email Sent, Follow Up Sent, Bounced, or Suppressed.

Won#

A thread where a link landed. You mark it won with the live URL. A won thread is terminal: it is never archived or reopened.

A link to your site that GenLink tracks in Results, with a dofollow or nofollow tag and a confidence status.

Verified, attributed, seen in index#

How sure GenLink is about a link. Verified: a crawl found the live link on a page you pitched. Attributed: the link is tied to your outreach or recorded by hand. Seen in index: the index found the link, but nobody you pitched is on that page.

Sending and safety#

Sending account#

A connected mailbox. One agent sends from one mailbox; to send more, hire another agent.

Workday#

The hours your agents are on the clock, set once per workspace in the workspace timezone, defaulting to 10:00 to 22:00, Monday to Friday.

Daily cap#

The most emails one agent sends per day, default 20, settable 1 to 500. Your mailbox's own cap applies on top.

Suppression#

An address or domain blocked from outbound, either on your do-not-send list or written automatically when an email hard-bounces.
